S2E49. The key pillars to thriving in menopause

Welcome 1.32

Why menopause has become medicalized

Despite the popular narrative the truth is our body still makes hormones

HRT doesn't fix the underlying cause of what's really going on of why you're experiencing these symptoms

Women are very, very active, but they're worn out. And it's very hard to live an unstressed life in the 21st century, no matter where you live.

Alcohol is a major underlying cause of most symptoms including hot flashes, weight around the belly, not being able to sleep, insulin resistance, and inflammation.

Where are our priorities. We're not looking after ourselves, we're not honoring our body and what our body requires

Accept the fact that your body is changing. But it doesn't mean it's the downward slide because you can be strong, you can be healthy, you can be vital.

Importance of actually hearing what their bodies are telling them. So if they've got specific symptoms, what messages is there by telling them and when we start to listen and respond with love,

We have inner strength as we get older. And in fact, there's this thing called the grandmother effect. And can guide the rest of the community. That's our role.

When we accept responsibility for what is going on, then we find that things will change.

Great advice: give yourself six minutes to sit in the crap. And after the six minutes are over, it's time to move on. And it's like, yeah, we don't have to keep reliving it
