Since I started talking about menopause eight years ago the conversation has exploded and become a hot hot topic. I am thrilled that discussing menopause is becoming normalized in workplaces, on TV, and among our social circles.
And I am in no way against MHT/HRT. Hell, vaginal estrogen has been my go-to when hyaluronic acid and sea buckthorn didn’t do enough to stop the dryness.
But with a proliferation of people touting that HRT is the panacea and if you don’t take it good God the repercussions could be enormous., the polarisation and shaming have become intense, like so many aspects of women’s health.
Can I tell you as a woman who didn’t take HRT in perimenopause I got through it. Lifestyle, nutrition, and doubling on stress management were key.
My message to you is you, do you!
HRT can be a lifesaver for many women.
But we also need to be able to show success stories of women who chose not to use HRT and manage their experiences naturally without it.
On this World Menopause Day, my message is: Let’s talk more about menopause in the spirit of choice and be less didactic with each other!

Hrt for myself. I worried about the side effects but then I had to balance my symptoms too.
